Project G (the G is for give) is a project started by Mary as a fun way to raise money for local charities. Participants take part in a flash mob/dance mob (see below for details on flash mob/dance mobs). All the money raised from a flash mob/dance mob goes to a particular charity and participants get to have fun learning and performing a dance. Details of the flash mob/dance mob are kept secret but participants have plenty of time to rehearse.
Project G flash mob/dance mobs are designed so people of any level of dance experience can participate. Each flash mob/dance mob has at least two one-hour rehearsals. The dances are choreographed to be easy, so anyone can take part.
What is a flash mob/dance mob? According to Wikipedia, a flash mob/dance mob is a group of people who assemble in a public place—seemingly suddenly—perform some sort of act (such as a dance number) for a brief time, and then disperse. Flash mobs are meant to be secret, so the people witnessing the mob have no idea what they're about to see. Project G flash mob/dance mobs are choreographed to be fun for everyone, while raising money for local organizations.
Most of the flash mob/dance mobs are planned for around Christmas and again in late spring.
